To distinguish VENTUS TR generations, require the complete model name and a clear VeloCore or VeloCore+ marking. TR alone does not identify the generation, and a current listing date does not mean the shaft is the newest construction.

Both generations are real products
Fujikura maintains separate pages for original VENTUS TR with VeloCore and VENTUS TR with VeloCore+. Both combine their named core technology with Spread Tow fabric and use Red, Blue and Black profile names. The new TR Blue introduction identifies January 9, 2026 as its retail launch.
| Listing detail | What it establishes |
|---|---|
| VENTUS | Family name only |
| TR | Subfamily; not sufficient to identify generation |
| Red, Blue or Black | Profile within the stated generation |
| VeloCore or VeloCore+ | Construction generation to verify |
| Weight family and flex | The specific option, not a universal fitted weight |
A seller can legitimately offer older new stock. The important point is that the description and price comparison use the correct generation. Do not label an original VeloCore shaft counterfeit merely because a newer version exists.
Ask for photographs of the actual item
For a used shaft, request the full model graphics, flex and weight markings, tip-area technology logo and installed sleeve. A generic manufacturer photograph cannot establish what the seller will ship. Save the written description with the images.
Also ask whether the shaft has been tipped, extended or moved between heads. Those details can matter more to the finished build than a cosmetic difference between generations. An unknown history should remain unknown in your buying decision rather than being silently described as standard.
Do not upgrade from a logo alone
Manufacturer descriptions position the newer construction as an improvement, but they do not predict a specific player’s gain. If the original shaft already produces useful flight and consistent contact, use it as the fitting baseline rather than assuming it must be replaced.
Compare the same head and settings at a similar finished length. Select comparable weight and flex options with the fitter rather than equating two numbers on a shaft label. Our shaft-weight guide explains why the weight family is not the finished mass of the assembled club.
Control the comparison
Alternate short groups and keep ordinary misses in the record. Watch the carry window, strike pattern and start direction alongside any launch-monitor numbers. A shaft that produces one longer drive but makes your normal misses less usable has not automatically won.
Stop if fatigue is changing the swing. It is better to return for a focused comparison than to select the last shaft tested simply because the session is ending. Ask the fitter to record what changed between builds so you can reproduce the result later.
Compare installed US prices
A bare shaft price excludes decisions about the sleeve, grip, trimming and final measurement. Ask for a complete assembled quote using the exact generation tested. If reusing parts, confirm that their condition and compatibility have been checked.
Our driver-length guide provides the measurement context. A used assembly advertised at a certain length may refer to the shaft alone or to the previous complete club, so ask how it was measured.

Check the exact model, generation and seller. Results can include alternatives; a search link does not confirm availability. Use the official supplier links for specialist products and services.
Choose the exact shaft that supports your fitting result and budget. An accurately described older TR can be worth considering; the newer VeloCore+ can be worth testing. The decision requires an identifiable product and a comparable build, not a generation badge interpreted as a guaranteed performance gain.
