Stack Wedging adds guided target-distance practice and scoring to a radar session. The useful difference is the structure around each shot, rather than simply displaying another number. It currently requires Stack Radar and iOS access, so check the complete setup before buying for wedge practice.

What the app adds
The official Wedging overview describes an initial baseline and personalized target-distance sessions. Creative Mode lets you customize the practice task. That can help a golfer who tends to hit a bucket of similar shots without recording a target or result.
The editorial question is whether you will use that structure. If you already run a disciplined wedge session and keep clear notes, the app is competing with an existing method. If your practice lacks variation and a record of progress, guided challenges may be a more meaningful addition.
Understand what the distance number represents
The Stack Radar product page distinguishes measured speed from estimated carry. Treat a modeled distance accordingly. A displayed yardage is not proof that the ball physically landed on a particular spot on your course, especially when conditions or balls differ.
Build your own reference using normal golf balls and observable targets where possible. Use our distance worksheet to record carry observations, strike quality and conditions. Keep a clear note of which numbers are device estimates and which come from watching actual shots.
Check hardware, platform and ongoing access
The current Wedging page requires Stack Radar and specifies iOS; Android is described as a future update. Owning another radar that works for Stack speed training does not prove access to this feature. Verify Wedging by name before buying a bundle.
Stack Radar currently includes free Practice Tracker access and an introductory Scoring Membership trial. That does not mean every scoring feature remains free indefinitely. Check what the trial includes, the ongoing membership terms and the account used for renewal. Decide whether the continuing service is worth paying for after the initial period.
Try a disciplined session before deciding
You can test the value of structure without first buying an app. Choose several sensible wedge targets, alternate them and record the intended distance, result and quality of contact. Avoid repeating the same target until one good shot makes the session look successful.
Review which distances are least dependable and whether a particular club or swing length causes trouble. That record tells you what a guided program would need to improve. It also gives you a baseline for judging the service if you later subscribe, rather than relying on how entertaining the first session feels.
Who is it most useful for?
Shortlist Stack Wedging if you have the required setup and want a repeatable challenge with less manual organization. Keep a basic radar-and-notebook routine if you already enjoy designing sessions or cannot use the supported platform. Neither approach guarantees better scoring without useful practice.
Our club-distance guide explains why personal yardages matter more than copying someone else’s chart. Use the app to organize learning, then check that the learning transfers to real targets and the shots you face on the course.
