Ordering Srixon ZXi Gen 2 Combo Irons in the US

Build a Srixon ZXi Gen 2 combo set around the point where your shot pattern changes. Select the transition with adjacent clubs in a fitting, then put every head, loft, shaft and grip on one written order. Matching model numbers alone does not produce a coherent set.

What the new family allows you to investigate

Srixon’s second-generation announcement identifies ZXi7, ZXi5, ZXi5+ and ZXiU, and explicitly discusses blended sets. It also gives an October 16, 2026 launch date. At this September research date, the sensible next step is arranging the correct fitting equipment and a written build proposal, not assuming a complete custom set is ready to ship.

The question here is how to order a mixed set. It is narrower than choosing the most forgiving iron in a catalog: even individually suitable heads can produce an awkward transition when their lofts, shafts or distances change at the same point.

Find the transition with three clubs

Choose a likely changeover point, then test the club below it, the proposed transition club and the club above it. For example, if you are considering changing head families around the middle irons, request both candidate versions of that numbered iron. This is a fitting example, not a recommended factory combination.

Record carry ranges and left-to-right tendencies, including representative mishits. A transition that looks ideal from the best shot may leave two clubs doing the same job in normal play. Use the distance worksheet to keep the whole progression visible.

Repeat a few shots from grass if practical. The fitting mat can answer some questions about ball flight, but your ability to use the sole from a normal lie matters too. Discuss whether the long-iron choice will mostly be hit from a tee, fairway or rough; those are different jobs.

A purchase sheet that prevents mix-ups

Record each club separately on the custom order
Field What to specify Why it matters
Head Exact Gen 2 model and club number Avoids mixing an earlier model into the quote
Loft and lie Requested final values or confirmed factory specification Makes the transition explicit
Shaft Full model, weight class and flex Prevents a similar name hiding a different component
Finished build Length, grip and agreed balance specification Keeps setup consistent across the set
Supply Delivery estimate for every component One unavailable item can delay completion

Ask the fitter to explain any loft adjustment rather than merely requesting equal numerical gaps. Ball flight depends on the complete club and your delivery. If an adjustment is proposed, have the builder confirm it is permitted and explain any effect on the sole. Do not use a generic bending rule across all constructions.

Keep the wedges and utility in the same discussion

A more compact short-iron section is only useful if it connects cleanly to your wedges. Bring those wedges to the appointment and check the first partial shot as well as the full swing. Our wedge gapping guide helps organize that part of the test.

At the top, decide whether ZXiU has a distinct task. It should not enter the order simply because the family offers one. Compare its intended carry with the longest iron and the next wood or hybrid you already own. A club that duplicates both neighbors takes budget and bag space without filling a clear gap.

Compare complete US quotes

Send the same specification sheet to any shops you are considering. Ask whether the price includes fitting, custom components and assembly; add tax and shipping. Confirm what happens if a shaft becomes unavailable and whether substitutions require your approval.

When the set arrives, compare the packing list with the order before taking it to the course. Have the shop resolve an incorrect model or length promptly. Keep the fitting record so a future replacement iron can be ordered to match, rather than reconstructing the set from memory.
