Choose a junior golf trolley with the child and their loaded bag present. Comfortable handle reach, secure support spacing and manageable turning matter more than an age label. Rovic’s RV3J gives a useful bag-height range, while Masters Junior 5 Series provides adjustment at both the handle and bag bracket.
Keep trolley fit separate from club length. A child can have correctly sized clubs but a bag that sits badly on a trolley, or a bag that fits while the handle remains too high. Check each relationship rather than assuming one junior label solves them all.

Begin with natural walking and handle reach
Have the child stand behind the trolley in ordinary golf shoes and adjust the handle as intended. Ask them to walk a short distance without reaching upwards, hunching or striking the frame with their stride. A position that looks acceptable while standing still can feel different when turning or going slightly uphill.
Let the child make the adjustments they are expected to use, with adult help where appropriate. The aim is a manageable routine, not simply the tallest setting that leaves room to grow. If the trolley only works comfortably at an awkward extreme, compare another frame instead of relying on a future growth spurt.
Rovic’s stated height range belongs to the bag
Rovic describes RV3J as a junior three-wheel trolley accommodating most junior bags from 26 to 30 inches, or about 660 to 760mm. Those numbers refer to the bag, not the player’s height. Measure the actual bag body and then check where its supports and restraints meet the frame.
The RV3J also has large rear wheels and a one-step folding design in its official description. These are useful features to try, but they do not establish how easily a particular child can steer a fully loaded trolley. Add the clubs, water and ordinary accessories before judging the result.
Masters allows two different fit adjustments
The Masters Junior 5 Series TRP00125B lists a height-adjustable handle and a height-adjustable bag bracket. These adjustments address different problems: hand position and where the bag is supported. The supplier lists a 4.65kg trolley and folded dimensions of 87 by 34 by 34cm.
Set the bag bracket first so the bag rests securely, then adjust the handle for the child. Recheck both after walking and turning. Do not shorten the bag support arrangement merely to bring the handle closer if that causes the base to sit poorly. The two adjustments are useful precisely because each can be assessed for its own task.
Check the loaded bag and everyday control
Use only the equipment the child needs for an ordinary round or practice session. Extra balls, oversized bottles and adult accessories can make a junior setup needlessly cumbersome. Ask the child to start, stop and turn on suitable level ground, and show the correct parking routine before progressing to normal course use.
Inspect whether a small bag slips between the upper supports or whether a stand mechanism is pressed against the frame. Check the lower strap as well as the top. A trolley that fits the bag body should still allow the child to reach clubs and open the pockets they actually use.
Plan who folds and lifts it
A junior trolley’s size does not establish that a child should lift the complete folded frame into a car. Decide which jobs the adult will handle and keep the child clear of moving folding parts. If the bag can remain attached in a documented transport configuration, check the combined lifting task rather than treating it as automatically easier.

Reassess the fit as the child, bag or clubs change; a good first setup is a starting point for comfortable use, not a permanent sizing decision.
