Wellstroke vs a Putting Mirror: Path Template or Address Feedback?

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Wellstroke gives you a printed path and setup template; a putting mirror lets you inspect address alignment. Choose the aid that makes your current practice question visible. Neither should be used to force every golfer into the same eye position or stroke shape without understanding the reason.

Use a template for a defined stroke task

The Wellstroke product page describes printed references for feet, ball, face alignment, path and stroke length, plus tee-gate use. Choose the actual arc and handed version with care. Regional pages show different arc ranges, so we do not assume every version is available from every US seller.

A coach can help decide whether the reference matches the movement you are trying to rehearse. Do not select an arc solely because it is promoted as suitable for most players. The useful question is whether it clarifies your task without creating a compensation elsewhere in the stroke.

A mirror shows the setup you actually take

PuttOUT’s Compact Mirror description explains its eye-line, shoulder and face-alignment references. A mirror can reveal that your address position changes between attempts, even when each one feels similar. It does not by itself tell you which setup is best for your individual putting.

Place the mirror as instructed and take a normal stance before checking the reflection. If you continually move yourself to satisfy a line on the aid, ask whether that line is being used as an observation or a prescription. Establish the intended reference with a coach when the answer is unclear.

Start line still needs its own result check

A visually tidy setup does not guarantee that the face returns as intended during the stroke. Use a simple ball-start task after the address check and record the result. Similarly, following a printed path is not proof that pace is controlled at a longer distance.

Separate the tasks: first establish setup, then observe start line, then practice distance. That sequence helps identify what actually changed. If every practice attempt uses several aids and new instructions at once, a good result becomes difficult to explain or repeat without them.

Check the surface and accessories

Confirm whether the intended use requires tees in a practice green, supplied indoor gates or another compatible arrangement. Do not push tees into a floor or mat that is not designed for them. Check the exact contents of a bundle rather than assuming every photograph shows included accessories.

Our putting-mirror guide and putting-gate guide explain the different feedback jobs. Use those distinctions to decide whether one aid is enough before buying a collection.

A short routine for either tool

Choose one reference and rehearse a small group of putts with the aid. Remove it and repeat the same task. Record whether the setup or start line remains dependable without looking at the guide. That transfer check is more informative than staying on the aid until one attempt succeeds.

Shortlist Wellstroke for an agreed path-and-setup task; shortlist a mirror for repeatable address feedback. Confirm handedness, arc or mirror size and the current US seller’s package before ordering. We have not tested these aids and do not claim that either creates a universally correct putting stroke.
