BenQ’s AH30ST is the more straightforward choice when a 1080p simulator picture meets your needs. AK700ST adds 4K resolution and automated setup features, but realizing that benefit also depends on the computer, software output and screen. Compare a complete working display system before deciding that four times the pixel count deserves the extra cost.

What changes between these two projectors?
BenQ’s AH30ST specification identifies an LED 1080p model, while its AK700ST specification identifies a 4K laser model. Both use a short-throw optical range, so this is not simply a choice between a small-room and a large-room projector.

Judge resolution from where you actually stand and sit
A simulator screen can be much larger than a television, but the golfer does not study every frame from the same distance. Consider whether you mainly want readable practice numbers and a convincing course view, or whether close viewing and movies are central to the room.
Ask to see fine text, trees and distant course features at your intended screen size. Use the same source resolution when judging projector characteristics; then compare the full 1080p and 4K workflows. A compressed promotional video on a phone cannot settle how either will look on your screen.
The PC must render the resolution you want
Check the current requirements of the simulator application and launch-monitor connection. A computer that can send a 4K desktop does not necessarily render a demanding golf course smoothly at that resolution. Graphics settings, course detail and the chosen frame rate all belong in the decision.

Screen material and room light still matter
Neither resolution figure removes wrinkles, dirt, a moving screen or light falling directly on it. Establish a correctly installed screen and manageable lighting before expecting a projector upgrade to solve the picture. Our screen selection guide covers those practical limits.
The ANSI brightness figures provide a useful manufacturer comparison, but they are not our measured brightness in a calibrated picture mode. Ask the supplier to demonstrate the settings you expect to use, including any quieter or reduced-power option.
Similar throw ratios do not guarantee a direct swap
The optical ranges overlap, but chassis dimensions, mounting holes, lens position and ventilation can still differ. If replacing an existing projector, measure from the lens rather than the bracket and identify what can actually be reused.
The AK700ST page describes autofocus and automated screen fitting. Treat those as setup conveniences within a suitable installation. They cannot supply missing physical clearance or establish that an existing protective case is approved for the new unit.
Compare the total upgrade
Put the projector, computer changes, mounting, cabling and setup labor into one US quotation. Keep any optional streaming or audio equipment separate so it does not obscure the simulator cost. Confirm current US warranty and return terms with the seller rather than importing another region’s offer.
