All Sports Inflatables 12×16 vs 16×16: Offset or Center Hitting?

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

The 12×16 All Sports Inflatables enclosure is described for offset hitting, while the 16×16 adds width for a centered mat. Both have a one-person restriction in the product descriptions. Choose between them from a measured ball-and-swing layout; the larger outside footprint is not permission to add spectators inside.

Make sure you are comparing the full enclosures

ASI also sells shallower products called simulator bays. Those are not the same models as the 12×16 full enclosure and 16×16 full enclosure discussed here. Check the exact product name and dimensions on the quotation so a short indoor bay is not mistaken for the full-depth enclosure.

Offset hitting changes more than the mat position

With an offset layout, check where the golfer stands, where the ball travels and how the projected target is aligned. The monitor and simulator must support the intended arrangement. Do not compensate for unsuitable physical placement by aiming at the middle of the picture without checking the target line.

For a regular right- or left-handed user, evaluate that person’s complete swing. If both handednesses will use the enclosure, test each independently and ask ASI and the monitor supplier to confirm the arrangement. An offset position comfortable for one golfer may not serve the other.

Our inflatable enclosure buying guide explains the complete equipment list and the difference between the structure and a working simulator.

Center hitting still needs an individual clearance check

The wider model gives the supplier a centered-mat use case, but its ten-foot outside height is not a guaranteed ten-foot clear swing space. Inflatable members, roof shape, the hitting surface and equipment occupy space. Ask for the relevant clear internal measurements, not only the overall shipping illustration.

Mark the actual monitor, mat and screen positions on a measured plan. Include the golfer, cable routes and any external securing arrangement required by the instructions. Keep waiting players outside the restricted area and away from the shot path.

Confirm the exact screen and projector geometry

Request the viewable screen width and height for the exact enclosure and roof option. Nominal product dimensions are not the projection dimensions. Where a published aspect-ratio label and screen measurements do not agree, get written clarification before choosing the projector.

Check the projector’s throw, image format and protective placement against those confirmed dimensions. Our projector guide helps organize the optical decisions without assuming a particular enclosure automatically suits a particular projector.

Compare everything that must travel with it

The enclosure descriptions include the screen, nets and pump but exclude items such as the hitting mat, turf, projector enclosure and sandbags from the base offer. Confirm current options and the securing requirements in the complete operating instructions. Do not count a selected add-on as included in the basic package.

Ask for packed dimensions, weight, handling requirements and storage instructions for the exact size. The larger operating footprint is only part of the ownership difference; moving, drying and storing the equipment may affect how often you use it.

Choose the layout you can operate consistently

Buy 12×16 only when the confirmed offset arrangement suits the golfer and equipment. Buy 16×16 when the extra width solves a real center-hitting requirement and the location can accommodate the complete installation. Obtain current inflation, weather and securing instructions before use; neither model should be chosen from outside dimensions alone.
