Srixon Q-STAR in the US vs AD333 Abroad: Avoid the Wrong Reorder

Do not reorder an AD333 or a Q-STAR product solely because a seller describes it as the same ball under a regional name. Check the full model, generation and construction. Current Q-STAR TOUR and ULTISPEED are visibly different products from the current two-piece AD333.

Q-STAR is also a family name

The current Srixon US Q-STAR catalog groups TOUR, TOUR DIVIDE and ULTISPEED listings, including some explicitly marked previous models. A search result headed only Q-STAR therefore needs closer reading. It does not identify one universal construction.

The current European AD333 model AD33312 is two-piece ionomer with a published compression of 68. Current Q-STAR TOUR is three-piece urethane; ULTISPEED Trackline is three-piece ionomer. These facts are enough to reject a blanket assumption that every present-day Q-STAR listing is simply AD333 with a different name.

A useful identification note for a US reorder
Listing name What the checked current source establishes What not to assume
AD33312 European two-piece ionomer model Identical to every historic or current Q-STAR
Q-STAR TOUR Current US three-piece urethane model The word TOUR is optional wording
Q-STAR ULTISPEED Current US three-piece ionomer model The same ball as standard TOUR

Use the ball you liked as evidence

If you enjoyed a ball on a trip, keep the sleeve or photograph its side stamp and packaging. Record whether it was new, provided by a shop or found on the course. A found ball may be an older model even when it was played this season.

Use those details to ask the manufacturer or seller for an exact match. Include the product code if available. A vague memory of the brand and color makes it easier to buy the wrong generation when similar boxes appear together.

Our Srixon range guide provides background, while the materials guide explains the significance of the construction terms. Neither replaces matching the actual item.

Do not turn a historical naming claim into current equivalence

Regional naming can change over time. Even if two older products were closely related, that does not establish that their later successors remain identical. A retailer’s shorthand may also omit an important word such as TOUR or ULTISPEED.

We did not verify a manufacturer statement establishing complete equivalence between the exact older Q-STAR you may own and AD33312. Without that statement, the useful advice is to compare them as candidates, not promise an exact replacement.

Compare domestic replacement and overseas reorder separately

If your priority is the same product, obtain a quote for the exact AD333 generation and ask who fulfills the US delivery. Confirm the final destination charges, delivery estimate and return arrangements rather than converting an overseas shelf price into dollars and calling it delivered cost.

If your priority is a convenient ball with suitable behavior, choose a small quantity of the domestic candidate and trial it against the remaining reference balls. You are then making a replacement decision based on performance rather than asserting manufacturing identity.

Keep both questions distinct. A US alternative may be easier to buy and still feel different. An imported exact model may be the right preference without being the lowest-cost order.

Run a modest confirmation trial

Use familiar putting distances, a normal pitch and a middle-iron target. Record any adjustment in landing plan. Do not compare a heavily scuffed reference ball with a new candidate and attribute every difference to the model.

If the substitute works well enough for your normal shots, keep the full new name on your reorder note. If it does not, you have spent only a trial amount and can seek a more suitable option without being tied to a bulk purchase.

The safest reorder is based on an exact box or product code. When that match is unavailable, make an explicit, tested substitution rather than relying on a regional nickname.
