UST Mamiya TSPX Shafts: Buying Through an Authorised US Fitter

TSPX identifies a UST Mamiya product and dealer channel, not a complete fitted-club specification. Ask a certified dealer for the exact shaft and an itemized installed build; the badge alone does not establish which option suits your swing.

What UST Mamiya says TSPX covers

The TSPX overview identifies a certified dealer network and multiple shaft families across woods, hybrids and irons. The lab page describes assessment against the manufacturer’s criteria and lists DART V iron shafts in 90, 105 and 120 weight classes.

That is product and distribution information, not independent evidence that every TSPX shaft will outperform your current one. “Tour” in a program description does not mean only tour-speed players can be fitted, or that tour use proves a benefit for your build.

Confirm the dealer and the demonstrator

Use the manufacturer’s linked dealer route, then ask the individual location whether it has the exact family and weights you want to test. Certified status and current fitting inventory are different questions. Do not book a long drive on the assumption that every listed location carries every option.

Questions for a TSPX fitting quote
Question Useful answer
Which shaft? Full family, version, weight class and flex
What can I test? Actual demonstration options in the relevant head
What is included? Fitting, shaft, adapter if needed, grip, assembly and checks
Who builds it? Named seller or workshop responsible for final specifications
What happens afterward? Written terms for adjustments, defects and returns

Choose the category around a specific problem

For a driver, identify the flight and strike pattern you want to improve. For irons, discuss the total set weight and whether the current build becomes difficult to control over a round. Those questions may lead to different families and weights rather than one universally premium answer.

Our shaft-weight guide can help you describe that requirement. A lighter or heavier option is a fitting variable, not an automatic upgrade. Keep your current clubs available as a comparison throughout the session.

For iron shafts, quote the complete set

A per-shaft price can hide the actual cost of changing an iron set. Write out the clubs involved and ask whether the quote includes removing existing shafts, preparing the heads, new grips and checking final length, loft and lie.

If one iron has a different head or bore requirement, identify it before the quote is finalized. Do not assume a mixed set will be assembled exactly like a uniform set. The builder should explain the intended progression and any component differences.

Keep the old shafts only if you have a realistic reason and the removal process can preserve them. Ask the shop about that option before work begins rather than expecting every used component to remain reusable.

For woods, specify the assembly

Record the actual adapter, intended head, finished length and grip. A raw shaft does not have one universal playing length once installed. Our driver-length guide helps separate the relevant measurements.

Ask whether the tested build and ordered build use the same trimming and head settings. A different assembly can change the result even when the shaft’s family name is unchanged. Keep the final written specification with the fitting data.

Use the seller’s actual terms

UST Mamiya’s return policy directs purchases made through dealers, fitters or builders back to the original seller’s policy. Clarify that policy before a custom assembly is started. Do not assume a shaft manufacturer’s direct-store terms create a playing trial through another business.

A worthwhile TSPX purchase combines an identifiable product, a useful comparison and a clear build agreement. Pay for the configuration and service that solve your problem, with manufacturer claims treated as context rather than a substitute for your fitting evidence.
