The U.S. Kids Golf 6th Club Free program can improve the value of an eligible new-club purchase, but it should not make you buy clubs the child does not need. Compare the actual code benefit with a correctly sized used set and its different conditions.

What the current US program requires
The US program page requires five qualifying clubs bought through an authorized seller, with purchase evidence and UPCs. Used and Outlet clubs do not qualify. The benefit is a family-dependent, one-use discount code; shipping and tax are extra. Check the current value for the exact product family before calculating a saving.
Do not assume that the word “free” means any sixth club will arrive without another payment. A code’s value and the price of the item you choose may differ. Keep the code benefit separate from delivery and the rest of your equipment budget.
Compare two complete playing sets
| Question | New-club route | Used-set route |
|---|---|---|
| Does it fit now? | Measure and choose the appropriate size | Verify actual size and any modifications |
| Are all clubs useful? | Avoid adding an unnecessary fifth club | List contents rather than counting the bag |
| What is the real total? | Purchase cost plus redemption order, less usable code | Delivered set plus necessary repairs or replacements |
| What evidence matters? | Receipts and UPCs | Listing condition and seller terms |
Write the child’s required clubs first, ideally with their coach’s input. Then compare how each route supplies that list. A collection of bargain clubs is not automatically a coherent junior set, and a larger new package is not automatically more suitable.
Keep purchase evidence organized
Save receipts and photograph the identifying labels before packaging is discarded. If buying from a retailer, confirm that the seller and products qualify before paying. A marketplace listing that uses the manufacturer’s name does not by itself establish authorized-seller status.
Keep records by child and equipment size so purchases do not become confused when siblings use different sets. Submit the actual required evidence through the current official process. Do not assume a loyalty account or a payment-card statement replaces every document the program requests.
A used set can still be the better purchase
A suitable used set may cost less overall even without a promotional code. Check condition, exact length, handedness and missing clubs. In particular, ask whether shafts have been cut down: a familiar model name does not guarantee an untouched junior specification.
The manufacturer’s Outlet condition guide distinguishes LIKE NEW from USED rather than treating all pre-owned equipment alike. Compare the actual grade and terms when using an official Outlet price in your calculation. Do not borrow a new-product warranty assumption for a used listing.
Fit should control the timing
Measure the child before ordering and review how comfortably they can address the ball and move the club. Avoid buying a larger size solely to make the purchase last longer. A coach can help decide whether to replace the whole set or only add a genuinely useful club.
Our U.S. Kids Golf range overview gives equipment context, while the US terms above apply to the benefit. The junior-bag guide is useful if the child’s current bag needs attention, but a bag purchase should be judged on fit and carrying needs rather than promotional arithmetic.
Use the code deliberately
Before redemption, choose the item you already intended to buy and check the complete checkout total. Avoid making a second unnecessary purchase merely because a code is waiting. If the code would otherwise go unused, its practical value to your household is lower than its face amount.
These affiliate links open Amazon US search results for the named equipment or accessories.
Check the exact model, generation and seller. Results can include alternatives; a search link does not confirm availability. Use the official supplier links for specialist products and services.
The program works best as a benefit attached to a sensible purchase. Start with the child’s current needs, compare complete costs and keep the qualifying evidence. That makes the new-versus-used decision much clearer than a “free club” headline alone.
