Buy a Foresight GCQuad around a defined coaching or fitting task and a clearly itemised package. The four-camera unit can provide detailed ball and club feedback, but club tracking, putting analysis and simulation software need to be checked as actual entitlements rather than assumed from the product name.
The key demonstration is not simply watching a ball register. Ask the supplier to show the exact measurements you want, using correctly marked clubs, the intended tracking mode and the software included in your quotation.

Choose the information your session needs
A ball-flight session may focus on launch, speed and spin. A fitting or coaching session can also require delivery information such as face angle, path or impact location. Write down the actual fields you and your coach intend to examine before selecting the package.
Foresight’s product overview lists the GCQuad’s capabilities, but a capability list is not an invoice showing that every option is active on an individual device. Ask for an on-screen demonstration of the required fields and have the supplier identify any feature or software purchase needed to obtain them.
Understand the club-data activation step
Foresight’s support documentation describes club tracking as a paid feature linked to the unit’s serial-number record. After purchase, the device needs to communicate with the manufacturer’s server through a supported method so that the entitlement can be applied.
That matters for a used unit, a newly purchased add-on or a demonstration machine being sold onward. Ask the supplier to verify the serial number and enabled features before handover. Do not assume that an email receipt alone means the feature is already available on the hardware in front of you.
Marked clubs are part of the measurement process
GCQuad club data requires approved markers on the clubface. The manual distinguishes a single-marker arrangement from a four-marker arrangement, with the fuller setup supporting additional face and orientation information. Follow Foresight’s current application guide for the actual club type.
If several golfers will share the unit, consider how you will prepare their clubs and maintain the markers. A coaching studio can build that into its session routine; an individual carrying the device to the range should decide whether the extra preparation fits a short practice visit. Arbitrary placement of reflective material is not the documented process.
Check the hitting zone in the intended mode
The manual places the unit approximately 22 inches from the hitting area, at the same level as the hitting surface. It describes an approximately 18 by 14 inch ball-only zone and a smaller, approximately 14 by 14 inch zone with club tracking enabled. The larger headline figure should therefore not be used for every setup.
Have the supplier demonstrate the on-screen placement aid in your chosen mode. For a shared room, include switching between right- and left-handed players, repositioning the device and restoring the target line. These steps establish whether the physical routine is practical before you invest in the surrounding enclosure.
Specify the complete software environment
List the software you intend to use for practice, fitting or course play and ask which licences are included. Confirm that the chosen computer meets that software’s current requirements and that the connection method supports your intended workflow. A device having Wi-Fi does not mean every setup or activation task works through every wireless connection.
If putting analysis is the reason for choosing the GCQuad, request a specific putting demonstration and entitlement confirmation. Likewise, if the purchase is mainly for simulation, assess the course software you will actually run. These checks prevent paying for hardware potential while leaving the desired experience outside the package.
Inspect ownership details on a used GCQuad
The device menu can identify its model, serial number, firmware and hardware version. Record those details and ask Foresight or the relevant UK supplier to confirm the support and transfer position. Inspect the camera windows, display, battery compartment and supplied power equipment, then request a normal working demonstration.
The removable battery is a useful ownership feature, but it does not establish the condition of the battery included with a used unit. Ask for recent operating history and the current replacement route. Judge the individual package, its enabled features and service support together. The GCQuad is a focused purchase when those details match a real measurement need, rather than an assumed guarantee of better golf from more data.
