This is a research-based buying guide using the manufacturer documents linked below. We have not carried out hands-on testing of these products. Our recommendations explain which specifications suit different needs.
Before buying a launch monitor, write down the software you want to use and what remains available if you stop paying. The hardware, the manufacturer’s feature package and a third-party simulator licence can be three separate parts of the purchase.
“Compatible with GSPro” answers a connection question. It does not, by itself, mean GSPro is included, that the connection is unlocked indefinitely or that your existing computer will run the complete system. Check those points together while the retailer can still change the quote.
Table of Contents
The three layers to separate
| Layer | What it buys | Question for the seller |
|---|---|---|
| Launch monitor | Physical measurement hardware and specified included features | Which data and practice modes work with no paid renewal? |
| Manufacturer package | Extra features or permission to use a third-party connection | Is this required for my chosen simulator, and when does it renew? |
| Simulator application | Course play, practice tools or other software features | Is this licence included, time-limited or purchased independently? |
Some combinations require all three layers; others do not. Avoid transferring the terms of one brand to another. A Garmin membership requirement is not a general rule for all compatible programs, and a package supplied with one Uneekor offer is not evidence that every seller includes the same promotion.
GSPro: budget for the computer and the correct connection
GSPro’s current pricing and requirements list an annual subscription at US$250 plus applicable taxes. It runs on Windows PCs, not as a native macOS or iOS app. For a UK budget, check the charged currency, tax and card conversion rather than calling this £250 or promising a fixed sterling equivalent.
The same page identifies supported monitors and additional prerequisites for some brands. Check the exact model rather than the manufacturer name alone. An unofficial community connection is a different purchase risk from a manufacturer-supported connection; ask who will help if an update breaks it.
Have the PC supplier check both the launch-monitor application and simulator requirements at your intended resolution. A computer adequate for a browser and email is not automatically suitable for a projected simulator. Include network ports, adapters and display outputs in that check.

Uneekor: connector access is not the other software licence
Uneekor’s account and subscription guidance says its packages can provide access to third-party software connections while the third-party licence remains separate. For EYE MINI and MINI LITE, the relevant manufacturer documentation requires Pro or a higher eligible package for that connection.
The included Player package supplies core practice functionality; it does not make every optional feature permanent. Check the account entitlement rather than relying on a retailer’s generic “software included” label. Save a copy of the offer that states the package name and duration.
If portability is also part of the decision, read the EYE MINI versus MINI LITE guide. The MINI’s display/iPad practice options and the LITE’s fixed Windows arrangement affect hardware spending independently of subscription prices.
Garmin R50: Home Tee Hero and third-party apps
Garmin distinguishes its Garmin Golf membership for Home Tee Hero from the subscriptions charged by third-party simulator providers. Choose the actual mode you expect to use rather than automatically buying every available membership.
For GSPro with the R50, follow the specific connection guide: the monitor communicates with a computer running GSPro. The R50’s onboard simulation capability does not remove that computer from a GSPro setup. Confirm the Wi-Fi arrangement at the place where the bay will operate, not just beside your home router.
If your priority is basic range practice, list the measurements and saved-session features you need before paying for course play. If you mainly want family rounds, test the multiplayer workflow and changing players. Different routines can justify different software choices on the same hardware.
Other monitors: read the entitlement that belongs to your model
GSPro currently identifies additional requirements for several supported devices, including Rapsodo MLM2PRO, Uneekor and certain Foresight/Bushnell configurations. Treat those prerequisites as items to verify with the relevant vendor, not as a single universal “simulator fee”.
For a used monitor, ask which paid features transfer with the hardware, which remain on the seller’s account and whether the manufacturer requires a transfer process. A photograph of an active course on the seller’s screen does not prove you will receive the licence needed to play it.
Do the same for bundles involving extra cameras or analysis tools. Software access may be only one requirement; some features need separate hardware. Include that hardware and any additional connections in the quote, or leave the optional feature out of your decision.
A practical renewal worksheet
For each proposed setup, write one row for every supplier charging you. Enter the feature, amount, currency, billing period, introductory expiry and cancellation route. Then add a plain sentence explaining what you lose if that row is not renewed.
| Field | Example of what to record |
|---|---|
| Feature needed | Third-party connector, virtual course play or advanced analysis |
| Included period | The exact trial/promotion duration shown on your order |
| Next payment | Amount and currency stated by the account or provider |
| Billing trigger | Activation date, trial end or annual renewal date |
| If cancelled | Features that remain and features that stop |
| Ownership change | Whether the licence can move to a replacement or second-hand device |
Compare the total across the same period, such as three years, and include payments that begin part-way through it. Do not count a promotional licence as an additional saving unless you would otherwise buy that software. It can be a useful trial without changing the right hardware choice.
Before you pay
Ask the seller to confirm the exact hardware/software combination in writing. Check that the named package is available to your UK account, whether a card is required for activation, and how renewal is controlled. Only the current offer and account terms can establish what is included in your order.
If the computer, enclosure and room preparation are still undecided, return to the complete home-simulator planning guide. A clear software budget is useful only when it sits beside the rest of the installation cost.
