Compare Q Follow and Birdie 3X by practising Follow, close control and the transition between them. Both offer following, so the useful UK decision is the exact battery package, manageable lift and after-sales route you prefer.

Both shortlist entries must actually include Follow

Stewart’s Q Follow listing identifies a following trolley with remote operation and Base 230Wh or Max 307Wh battery choices. The NAVEE UK Birdie 3X specification identifies UWB follow, remote control and power-assist, with a 220Wh battery. The ordinary Birdie 3 is a different comparison and should not be substituted because its name looks similar.

Battery capacity is one part of the package, not an independent endurance ranking. Two trolleys can use energy differently with the same bag and route. Ask each seller which exact configuration is appropriate for your course and playing schedule, then follow the supplied charging and storage instructions.

Follow-trolley demonstration checklist
Task Why it matters
Attach handset as instructed Follow depends on the intended handset position
Start, stop and change direction Establishes whether the response suits your walking
Switch to close control Needed where a following route is unsuitable
Load your own bag Shows strap fit and balance with real equipment
Fold and lift the actual package Small footprint does not establish an easy lift
Explain a repair collection Establishes how a fault would be handled in the UK

Follow mode needs a course routine, not just open grass

Ask for a demonstration using the handset position specified for each model. Practise stopping and starting at a calm walking pace in the approved area. Note how easy it is to remember which mode is active and where you put the handset when taking a shot. A mode that surprises you is a reason for more practice before deciding to buy.

Walk through the route you will use between fairways and greens. Plan when you will switch out of Follow for narrow paths, crowded areas or other unsuitable places identified in the manual. Do not assume that following technology recognises every obstacle or can safely choose a route without your supervision. The handover between modes is often more important than uninterrupted following on level grass.

Check the trolley in the boot and at home

NAVEE publishes a folded size of 680 by 565 by 384mm for the 3X reference. Use that to plan space, then perform an actual lift. Obtain the corresponding current Q Follow dimensions and the weight of the battery you selected. Compare the pieces you will actually lift, rather than one bare frame with another complete machine.

Include the charging location, storage temperature requirements and a place for the handset. If you play on consecutive days, establish a workable charging routine for both batteries involved: the main trolley pack and the remote. An accessory bundle is useful only if its holders do not obstruct folding or the way your bag sits on the frame.

Read the component cover, not only the largest warranty number

Stewart advertises UK service through its engineers with visit or collection options; check the applicable trial, registration and battery terms for your exact order. NAVEE’s UK service policy names LetMeRepair and requires a claim request before shipping. It separates frame, battery and other components, with extended battery cover requiring registration within 45 days.

For either offer, ask who arranges collection, what packaging is needed and which charges may apply outside warranty. Do not assume a long battery guarantee covers a remote, charger or accidental damage for the same period. Keep the order receipt and serial numbers together so a service request identifies the complete package.

Decide what earns the extra spend

Use our Stewart range guide and Birdie 3 versus 3X comparison for family context. Here, both candidates offer Follow, so the decision is whether one works better with your walking, loading and support routine. Put those observations beside the complete UK delivered prices and confirmed availability.

Choose the trolley whose mode changes remain straightforward after the demonstration, whose actual lift is comfortable and whose service terms you understand. If Follow itself still feels unnecessary, reassess the requirement before paying for it. A correctly chosen remote-only trolley may answer a different need more directly.
