Both are two-piece ionomer balls, but not the same model
Srixon’s current comparison chart lists AD333 and Soft Feel as two-piece ionomer designs with mid-high flight positioning. Its published compression values are 68 and 58 respectively. These are manufacturer specifications, not our measurements or a rule that one ball belongs to a particular swing speed.
The current AD333 page also identifies its Spin Skin coating. That gives you a specific short-game question to investigate, but it does not establish how much spin you will create. Buy a small quantity of the exact current models and compare familiar shots before deciding which dozen to repurchase.
| Task | What matters |
|---|---|
| Putt from several distances | Comfortable response and controllable pace |
| Chip to one landing area | Predictable release |
| Hit a normal pitch | Useful carry and stopping result |
| Play a mid-iron approach | Flight you can use on the intended green |
| Compare the delivered offer | Same quantity, model generation and condition |
Start with feel, then check what the ball does
Try each ball with your putter and write down the sensation you prefer. Next compare finishing distances. A quieter impact can feel softer without producing better pace control. Both observations can matter to a purchase, provided you do not confuse a preference with a measured improvement.
Move to a straightforward chip and pitch. Alternate balls, use the same lie and aim at the same landing area. Watch the first bounce and the final position. Repeating the comparison on another day helps avoid treating one unusually clean strike as the defining result.
Do not buy by compression alone
A lower number does not tell you that the ball will be longer for your swing or easier to control on every shot. Your technique, club delivery and intended flight all affect the result. Use the published values to identify different products, then let the shots establish whether the difference is useful to you.
If your present ball produces reliable approach distances, preserve those as a baseline. A small price saving is welcome, but it should not require guessing how much a familiar wedge or iron now carries. Keep the ball model consistent while you establish new yardages.
Use ordinary playing conditions
Try a normal mid-iron approach before comparing tee shots. Note carry, flight and release, including the ordinary short strike. On the driver, keep the setup constant and compare groups rather than the longest ball. If you use range balls for part of practice, recognise that they are not the product being assessed.
Our AD333 guide and Soft Feel guide provide individual context. The budget-ball guide helps with the broader price decision, while this trial concerns the specific two-model choice.
Compare real UK packs at the same count
Check whether the offer is a dozen, a larger multi-pack or a smaller trial quantity. Add delivery before dividing by the number of balls. Do not assume a headline price applies to your preferred colour, and distinguish current packaging from an older generation if that matters to the comparison.
For used or mixed-grade offers, read how condition is defined. A bargain assortment can be useful for some practice purposes, but it cannot reproduce a controlled new-ball trial. Buy more of the chosen model once several rounds show that the flight and short-game response remain comfortable.
Choose the model that gives the useful result and feel you prefer at a complete price you are comfortable paying. Search results can include Soft Feel Lady, Brite or other Srixon families, so identify the exact product before ordering.
