Choose Bushnell Wingman 2 for an audio-led routine with a separate yardage remote. Consider Blue Tees Player Pro if you specifically want a touchscreen on the speaker. This comparison uses Wingman 2: Wingman View and Wingman HD have different displays and should not be substituted under the same family name.

Start with how you want the distance delivered
The Wingman 2 specification describes spoken front, center and back yardages requested from the remote or speaker. Player Pro puts golf information on a touchscreen as well as providing audio. Neither format is inherently more useful if it duplicates a watch or phone you already check comfortably.
| Question | Wingman 2 | Player Pro |

| Map on speaker | No yardage touchscreen | Hole-view function subject to current entitlement |
| Power detail | Rechargeable speaker; CR2032 remote | USB-C charging |
| Natural fit | Simple spoken numbers | Visual information on the speaker |
Pair the whole system before the first tee
Bushnell support instructs users to pair both the speaker and remote and check app location permissions. Music playing successfully does not prove that the yardage remote and golf app are configured correctly.
Test a complete round-start sequence while you have time to troubleshoot. Confirm the right course and hole, then the callout settings you prefer. If the remote fails while the speaker is charged, remember that the remote has its own battery.
Player Pro needs a careful entitlement check
The current Player Pro manual lists an active connected GAME round and membership requirements for several advanced functions. Its sales page makes broader standalone claims. Obtain confirmation for your firmware and account before paying specifically for phone-free maps or scoring.
A free firmware update does not necessarily make an associated subscription feature permanently free. Price the functions you want after any introductory offer, and check how cancellation works through the service that bills you.
Try audio without imposing it on the group
Ask your playing partners whether they want music and follow the course policy. Try the spoken distance at a modest volume with music paused and playing. We have not measured either speaker’s sound quality, maximum output or clarity outdoors.
If you mainly play quiet rounds, a speaker may be useful off the course but unnecessary as your golf-distance purchase. Our GPS app guide can help assess whether your existing phone already supplies the information you need.
A map and a spoken number need the right position
Check where the system obtains the location used for yardages. During a shared-cart round, establish what happens when the phone, speaker and golfer are separated. Do not use a number from the cart as though it were automatically measured from the ball.
Our GPS and laser comparison explains why a screen full of course information does not replace every role of a rangefinder. Choose the information that makes your own approach-shot routine clearer.
Do not assume cross-brand speaker pairing
Read the exact supported pairing arrangement if linking multiple speakers matters. Player Pro’s Auracast marketing and Bushnell’s compatible-speaker system do not establish that these two products form a synchronized pair. Ordinary phone Bluetooth pairing is a separate capability.

Buy Wingman 2 for the remote-and-audio routine after testing its app setup. Buy Player Pro for screen functions you have confirmed and will use. Compare the complete current US package, including accessories and service requirements, without treating an untested claim of better sound as the deciding fact.
