Arccos Link Pro to Air: Update or Buy New Hardware?

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

If your working device is Arccos Link Pro, you do not need to buy an Air wearable to obtain the Air experience. Arccos says they use the same hardware, with software enabling sensorless tracking. The original Link is different: do not treat every product carrying the Link name as eligible for the same upgrade.

Identify the hardware before opening a shopping cart

The official upgrade announcement says Link Pro owners can update through the Arccos app and select Air as the detection method. The current support page separately states that the original Link still requires sensors.

Existing-owner decision
What you own Correct starting action Avoid
Working Link Pro Update the app and follow device prompts Buying duplicate hardware solely for the Air name
Original Link Check its supported sensor-based routine Assuming the Pro upgrade applies
Unidentified used device Confirm exact model and condition Relying on a seller title that mixes generations
Faulty Link Pro Diagnose charging or hardware problem Expecting an app update to repair physical damage

Update through the account you already use

Keep your existing account and follow the current app’s update and pairing prompts. Confirm the detection method before starting a round. A renamed product in an app does not mean that your historical records need to be recreated in a new account.

If the expected option does not appear, note the phone, operating-system version, app version and device identity before contacting support. Those facts make the problem more specific than simply reporting that “Air does not work.”

Keep useful sensors until you decide otherwise

The update gives you another way to record a round. It does not make your compatible sensors useless. Sensors continue to provide automatic club identification, whereas sensorless Air involves reviewing suggested club information.

Try the sensorless routine with a rental or borrowed set if that is your intended use. For your ordinary bag, compare the editing effort with the sensor-based routine you already know. Our shot-tracking guide explains why the quality of the finished record matters more than the novelty of the collection method.

Check charging before blaming the update

Inspect the charging case and device according to Arccos instructions. The support page describes the correct orientation and the power-switch position for charging. Use the charge indicators and app diagnostics rather than assuming a device stored in its case is always fully charged.

A worn or damaged charging arrangement is a separate ownership problem. Ask support about the exact component needed before ordering a complete replacement kit. Do not open or modify the wearable to try to repair an internal battery.

The upgrade is not a free lifetime subscription

The hardware-only product page still identifies a Game Tracking subscription requirement. The no-additional-cost statement concerns the software upgrade for existing Link Pro hardware, not unlimited future membership.

Check the renewal date and coverage of your own account. A used device, replacement charging case or promotional listing should not be assumed to include a new membership period unless the specific offer says so.

When replacing hardware makes sense

Replacement becomes a different decision if the device is lost, physically faulty or cannot hold a usable charge after the recommended checks. Establish the service options and the package contents before comparing new US offers.

Our distance-tools hub can help if your real aim is better distance information rather than another recording device. For a working Link Pro owner, the sensible first step is the documented update and a trial round using existing hardware, followed by a review of whether the new recording option is useful.
