Forged face and hollow body: the useful distinction
Titleist describes a hollow-body construction, dual-taper forged face, refined Max Impact Technology and D18 tungsten weighting. These are the documented features of this generation. They do not establish a distance gain for your swing or make every component a fully forged iron head. The manufacturer’s 2023 announcement is also the appropriate reference for the model’s release date.
Use those features to frame a fitting question: does this actual build produce useful gaps, a controllable flight and repeatable contact? Comparing the number stamped on two different 7-irons is insufficient when their lofts, shafts and lengths differ. Record the full build beside any carry-distance results.
Check the whole set, not the longest shot
Try the long iron you intend to use, a middle iron and a short iron. Keep the same ball and compare ordinary groups of shots with your present clubs. Ask the fitter to explain both front-to-back spread and descent into the green, rather than choosing whichever single shot travels farthest.

- Condition: inspect faces, grooves, soles, grips and signs of repairs.
- Completeness: establish whether a missing iron can be matched before committing to a partial set.
- Total cost: include delivery, replacement grips and any workshop work in the comparison.
Follow the used-club buying checks before ordering. A lower item price can become poor value when the build needs several changes.
Who should shortlist the T200?
Shortlist it when you prefer the head at address and can test a build that suits your delivery. A handicap label alone is not a fitting result. Choose another model if the trial does not produce useful contact, flight and gaps, or if the offered set cannot be matched to the specification you need.
