Motocaddy Trolley Seat Compatibility: 12V and 28V UK Guide

UK buying guide · Sources checked 13 October 2026

Motocaddy trolley seats have different generation limits. The current 28V Deluxe Seat is listed for all 28V M-Series and S-Series trolleys, while the older M-Series Seat excludes CLICK ’N’ CONNECT cable-free models. The 12V S-Series Seat is another product again. Identify the trolley before comparing prices.

Match the seat to the trolley generation

Manufacturer compatibility statements for three distinct seats
Seat listing Stated trolley compatibility Key buying check
28V Deluxe Seat (2024 onwards) All 28V M-Series and 28V S-Series The product title describes the seat generation; the manufacturer compatibility is broader than only 2024-onwards trolleys.
M-Series Seat (2018–2023) 28V M-Series 2018–2023; 28V S-Series 2022–2023 Explicitly excludes CLICK ’N’ CONNECT cable-free battery trolleys.
12V S-Series Seat 12V S-Series 2016–2021 Not for pre-2016 S-Series or the 28V S-Series from 2022.

These details come from Motocaddy’s 28V Deluxe, 2018–2023 M-Series and 12V S-Series product pages. For an SE or another model not explicitly resolved by those statements, ask Motocaddy to confirm the exact seat before ordering.

Buying for an older 28V trolley

Golf Gear Direct lists the 2018–2023 M-Series Seat and identifies the older M-Series/S1 compatibility. Check the selected product and availability with the retailer. Owners of cable-free CLICK ’N’ CONNECT trolleys should use the current 28V Deluxe specification above instead.

The similar names hide an important difference

“M-Series Seat” and “Deluxe Seat” can appear in retailer titles without all the generation detail. Keep the exact manufacturer product page beside the listing you are comparing. The older seat’s explicit cable-free exclusion is more useful than a photograph showing a trolley with a familiar M-Series name.

For the current 28V Deluxe product, Motocaddy states compatibility with all 28V M-Series and S-Series trolleys. That means the “2024 onwards” product heading should not be used on its own to reject every earlier 28V trolley. Equally, it does not include 12V models. Confirm the complete identity when your trolley or the seller’s description is uncertain.

Our Motocaddy trolley guide introduces the wider families. For accessory purchases, retain the voltage generation and battery-connection details alongside the model name.

Check the mounting parts before paying

A used seat can be offered without every bar, fitting or fastener needed for the intended trolley. Ask for the contents to be identified against the correct assembly instructions. A low price is less useful if you then need to find an unavailable mounting component.

Also inspect the trolley’s intended mounting area. If it has been altered, damaged or fitted with an unknown bracket, have a dealer check it before buying a seat. Do not treat a successful-looking attachment in a seller’s photograph as evidence that the combination is approved.

For a new purchase, ask which fittings are supplied with the seat and which belong to the trolley. Keep that answer with the order details. This is especially useful when the seat is a gift and the buyer cannot inspect the trolley directly.

Read the limits for the specific seat

Motocaddy gives the current 28V Deluxe Seat a maximum capacity of 100kg/220lb. Its product page also provides assembly instructions and identifies the operating-right mounting position. Those facts belong to that product: do not transfer the capacity or fitting steps to an older seat without checking its own instructions.

Use the assembled seat only as the manufacturer directs. Check that the intended rest position is suitable and that all fittings remain secure. A trolley seat is an accessory for stopping during a round; this guide does not establish that it can support a moving rider or serve as a mobility aid.

Include transport and storage in the decision

Work through the normal packing sequence before discarding packaging. Establish what must be removed before folding, where the detached pieces will sit and how they will fit alongside the trolley and bag. Avoid relying on a retailer’s generic “easy to remove” phrase as a complete packing plan.

If the trolley uses a travel cover, check the cover with the arrangement required by the instructions. Our trolley travel-bag guide explains why the folded dimensions and wheel arrangement matter. Adding a seat should not lead to forcing a cover over protruding parts.

Make the final comparison like for like

Record the seat generation, confirmed trolley compatibility, included hardware, delivery total and seller support. Compare offers only after those items match. Keep the receipt and assembly information so any later replacement part can be identified precisely.

If the correct older seat is unavailable, ask about a manufacturer-approved alternative for the exact trolley. Buying a visually similar seat and hoping its bracket fits is an expensive way to discover the difference between the generations.
