A PING i59 offer should be assessed as an older model and a specific used build. PING’s historical record places its introduction in 2021. The year in this page’s URL or an offer title does not identify a new i59 generation.

What has been corrected
The earlier article described an unverified 2026 redesign, “Hypernova Steel”, a “PurRoll2” insert, a 15% MOI improvement and our own launch-monitor results. We have withdrawn those claims. They should not be used to choose or value an i59 set.
PING’s original Japanese i59 product page specifies a 1025 carbon-steel body, 17-4 stainless-steel face and aluminium core insert, together with MicroMax grooves. It lists a standard 7-iron loft of 34° and PW loft of 46°. These identify the original model; they are not measurements of an altered used set. Do not transfer features from a current G-series iron to an i59 listing.
Colour code is a fitting detail
PING’s colour-code guidance identifies lie angle through the coloured dot on the head and treats shaft length as a further fitting consideration. A colour that suited the previous owner may not suit you. The manufacturer presents its chart and WebFit as starting points to refine through fitting.
Ask for the colour dot, actual lengths and any known adjustments. A dot alone cannot establish that a used club still has its original specification. If an alteration is important to the decision, have a qualified fitter measure the clubs rather than guessing from photographs or a generic listing.
What to request from the seller
| Detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Model photographs | Confirm i59 markings on every club, not a different PING iron or a mixed set. |
| Serial details | Keep the information available for model and specification questions to PING or an authorised retailer. |
| Full club list | A single replacement iron and a complete set are different offers. |
| Shaft labels and lengths | Check for mixed flexes, different replacement shafts or non-standard builds. |
| Face and sole condition | Inspect the high-wear scoring clubs and damage that generic images may conceal. |
Check grips for wear and suitability before calculating the total. Do not assume an old catalogue’s shaft was fitted, or that an aftermarket replacement preserves the original balance and length.
Compare it in a fitting
Bring your present iron for a direct comparison using the same ball and comparable shots. Examine typical carry, left-to-right spread and the flight of the longest club you plan to carry. A fitting can reveal whether a different shaft, length or head is a better use of the budget.
The i59 name does not establish a universal handicap range. The earlier recommendation for every golfer in a specified range has been removed. Decide from your contact, flight and useful gaps, including the transition to your wedges and hybrid.
Value depends on the actual set
Compare delivered prices for the same club count, shaft, condition and returns terms. Allow for regripping or a loft/lie check. Do not assume PING still supplies every original component: ask about availability before buying a set that needs a matching replacement.
Search Amazon UK for PING i59 iron offers
The search is a starting point, not a guarantee that a suitable complete set is currently listed. If the seller cannot establish the model and build, continue comparing.
