Alphard Sidekick: Check Follow-System Compatibility Before Buying

Alphard Sidekick is a follow accessory for supported powered Alphard systems, not a motor for an ordinary push cart. The current US product page lists Club Booster V2, V2 Pro and Cybercart. Start by identifying your drive system, then confirm the complete Sidekick kit and its mounting arrangement for your golf bag.

Research-based buying guidance, checked September 13, 2026. We have not tested this setup in person.

Which starting setup do you own?

Alphard’s current compatibility page includes a new remote with Sidekick and describes following from the left, right or behind. Those positions are choices within the supported system; they do not establish compatibility with another brand’s electric caddy.

Sidekick starting-point check
Your equipment What is needed Do not assume
Club Booster V2 or V2 Pro Current Sidekick kit and model-specific setup An old remote alone adds follow
Cybercart Supported Sidekick package and Cybercart instructions Standard remote package includes Sidekick
Manual push cart only A compatible powered conversion or complete powered cart first Sidekick supplies driving power
Another brand’s electric caddy Explicit manufacturer support before purchase A shared remote frequency or similar mount proves compatibility

If you have not yet chosen the powered cart, settle that first. Our push-cart guide helps with frame choices, and the remote-caddy guide explains whether remote steering alone meets your needs.

Check the mounting location with your loaded bag

The Sidekick manual explains the importance of a level mount, the forward direction arrow and an unobstructed signal path. Look at the actual bag with clubs, headcovers, towel and rain cover in place. A convenient empty-bag mounting point may become obstructed during play.

Ask the seller to demonstrate the supplied mount on your setup. Check that it does not prevent club removal, interfere with the handle or create a component you knock when lifting the bag. If you alternate between a stand bag and cart bag, evaluate both before deciding that the system will move seamlessly between them.

Pairing involves more than one component

Sidekick, its remote and the caddy drive must be set up as a working system. The published manual dates from 2023 and describes V2; the current sales page expands supported models. Use the instructions supplied for your actual revision, especially for Cybercart, rather than transplanting an old button sequence.

At handover, ask the dealer to demonstrate ordinary remote control, entry into follow mode and a deliberate stop. Then repeat those actions yourself. Knowing which indicator confirms the selected mode is more useful than memorizing a marketing description of automatic following.

Following still needs route planning

The manual calls for practice before course use and planning away from hazards. Treat follow as a way to reduce steering inputs on appropriate stretches, not evidence that the caddy can recognize every person, bunker, edge or obstacle. Choose a route with space for the complete cart and its turning path.

Think through your normal course: narrow bridges, crowded tee exits and steep transitions may need another control method. Our hilly-course checklist helps frame those questions. If most of your walk involves tight paths, the useful follow portions may be shorter than you expect.

Allow for charging and storage

The module and remote need charging as well as the cart’s drive battery. Establish a place to charge and store each part so the follow accessory is ready when the caddy is. Before folding or loading, follow the current mounting instructions and protect the module from being trapped between the bag and frame.

When buying used, confirm that the correct remote, mount and charging items are included. Missing pieces can turn a seemingly inexpensive module into an incomplete system. Ask about support for the exact serial number and avoid treating a generic USB accessory as a substitute for an unverified power specification.

Buy from the official Sidekick route or a confirmed US dealer once the drive and mounting checks are complete. The shopping links below concern organization accessories; they do not replace the supported Sidekick hardware.
