Q-STAR ULTISPEED and e12 Speed both deserve a look when distance is a priority, but their names do not establish which flies farther for you. Start by checking whether you need more carry, a more penetrating flight or simply a lower-cost ball you can use consistently.

Two distance-oriented descriptions with different emphasis
Srixon’s current ULTISPEED Trackline page specifies three-piece ionomer construction and labels flight high. The current e12 Speed page emphasizes a penetrating trajectory and includes Bridgestone’s MindSet graphic. We did not verify an exact e12 Speed layer-and-cover specification from that page, so this guide does not invent a matching construction table.
These descriptions create a useful question: which flight helps your normal tee and approach shots? They do not supply a measured cross-brand distance ranking. Our Srixon range guide and Bridgestone range guide provide the broader family context.

Define distance before measuring it
If the problem is clearing a hazard, compare carry. If you play a firm fairway with room to run, total distance may be more relevant. Write down which result matters before you test, otherwise a long-running shot can win a comparison it was never meant to answer.
Use a launch monitor if you have access, distinguishing measured data from modeled rollout. Outdoors, identify the landing point separately from the resting point. One bounce from a hard patch should not become a claim about the ball’s construction.
Keep the same driver settings for the initial comparison. A change to loft or tee height may be useful later, but it makes it harder to know what the ball itself changed. Include your regular ball as a control if neither candidate is familiar.
Retain a playable approach
After the driver comparison, use a middle iron into a target with visible front and back boundaries. Record where representative strikes land and finish. A gain off the tee is less appealing if it leaves you unable to hold the next target with a normal shot.
Use a short pitch to check your landing plan. If one candidate rolls farther after landing, consider whether a comfortable adjustment solves the problem. Different is not automatically worse; unpredictable or impractical is the more important concern.
The golf-ball materials guide explains why a single material or layer specification does not predict the complete outcome. It is also why we leave an unverified e12 specification blank rather than filling it with an older generation’s data.
Do the graphics fit your routine?
Try the selected marking from both behind the ball and your normal address. Decide whether it clarifies your target or causes repeated adjustments. Separate that preference from the flight notes so the more attractive design does not win an unrelated performance question.
Check the exact ULTISPEED listing: standard and Trackline versions may appear together. For e12, confirm the current Speed model rather than assuming an older e12 package represents the same family. Save a photo of the box that you actually tested.
A $5 product gap needs a real checkout
The linked dated product prices differ by $5 for the normal dozen purchase. Compare equal quantities and include shipping, tax and any genuinely convenient pickup option. A larger promotion can change the unit price while increasing the cash commitment.
If you lose balls frequently, use your own recent rounds to estimate consumption. A less expensive option that performs adequately can make consistent model use easier. That is a practical value argument; it does not require calling either ball the longest in golf.

Buy the candidate whose flight solves the problem you defined, then repeat the relevant shots before a bulk order. If neither improves the result, keep your present ball and investigate the club or delivery with a fitter.
