Choose current Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE if the two-tone seam improves your view of alignment and rotation; choose white if it is easier to aim and find. Keep both boxes in the same generation so you are evaluating the visual version rather than an old ball against a new one.

Current DIVIDE is glossy, so check clearance descriptions
Srixon’s current US DIVIDE listing specifies a glossy 50/50 finish and says it shares the urethane cover and playing technology of the classic Q-STAR TOUR. Its published construction is three-piece urethane. The current white TOUR also uses three-piece urethane. An older matte DIVIDE listing is not the same visual finish as this current version.
The current US catalog offers White/Green, White/Pink, Yellow/Red and Yellow/Orange DIVIDE versions. That is a menu of choices, not confirmation that every color is in stock near you. Check the selected color and exact product image in your final order.
| Situation | What to check with DIVIDE | What to check with white |
|---|---|---|
| Putting address | Does the seam remain comfortable when viewed from the side? | Is the existing sidestamp or your own line sufficient? |
| Following a pitch | Can you see rotation without losing the landing point? | Can you judge the landing and rollout clearly? |
| Finding the ball | Test both colors against your usual rough and shadows | Use the same location and viewing distance |
| Repeat order | Record generation and both colors | Record generation and selected white model |
The seam is an aiming reference, not a green reader
First decide your intended start line. Only then orient the seam. If the seam causes you to reconsider the line every time you stand over it, try a shorter alignment routine rather than repeatedly turning the ball until it looks perfect. The aim is a confident decision you can reproduce.
Compare a straight practice putt with a breaking putt. A visual design that feels reassuring on the first may distract you when the correct start line points away from the hole. Note how readily you commit to the chosen line; total makes over a handful of putts are too dependent on pace and surface to isolate the graphics.
Our alignment-line guide explains the wider routine. You can also use a plain ball with your existing mark as a reference. There is no obligation to buy a new design if the system you use already works.
Watch rotation without inventing a spin measurement
Two colors can make a ball’s rotation easier to notice, but your eyes do not provide a calibrated rpm reading. Use the view to connect a particular pitch with its landing and finish. Avoid declaring a different spin rate simply because one ball displays rotation more clearly.
Keep the landing zone in the observation. It is easy to become absorbed in the spinning pattern and miss the practical question of where the ball first touched down. Repeat an ordinary pitch to the same target before experimenting with different face positions or trajectories.
Visibility depends on where you play
Check a sample in short grass, light rough and shade without deliberately losing it. Look from the directions you normally approach a ball, not only straight down at it. One half can face upward while the other is less visible, so rotate it during the comparison.
A strong preference for one color combination is useful evidence even if another golfer prefers the opposite. Our yellow-ball guide gives broader visibility considerations. Neither a bright finish nor white is universally easiest for every person and course.
Compare equal packs before paying for a visual preference
At our September 13, 2026 check, the current white TOUR and current DIVIDE pages listed $39.99 per dozen. Destination charges and later promotions can differ. Match generation, quantity and seller before concluding that a discount proves one finish is cheaper to keep playing.
