S2G 26 Leather is a straightforward spikeless option with Lightstrike cushioning. CODECHAOS 27 puts more emphasis on its heel-support structure and outsole design.

MC70: check whether the listing says Spikeless
MC70 Spikeless JQ3494 is the white, green and off-white example linked here. adidas’ MC70 SL specification in its 2026 catalogue lists regular fit, a leather upper, Lightstrike cushioning with BOOST in the heel and a Torsion stability bar.
The MC70 family also appears in different versions. “MC70” alone is not enough to establish the sole. Look for the complete product name and an outsole photograph before ordering, especially if a retailer abbreviates Spikeless to SL. Do not transfer a review of the spiked model directly to this shoe.
Choose this version because you like its construction and the way it fits during a try-on. A traditional appearance does not tell you whether the toe box, heel or instep will suit you. Nor should a colour-specific sizing suggestion become a rule to size up across the whole adidas range.
S2G 26 Leather: keep Leather, Textile and Vent separate
The S2G 26 Leather Spikeless KK2871 is specified with regular fit, conventional laces, a leather upper and an Adiwear rubber outsole. adidas describes this version as waterproof and lists Lightstrike cushioning.
That makes it worth trying if you want a less complicated shortlist: a laced leather shoe and a spikeless sole, with the final choice resting on fit. The S2G name also appears on Textile, Vent and BOA products. Check each separately rather than assuming that their upper, closure or weather protection matches the Leather model.
When comparing offers, line up the whole name and product code. A cheaper listing is only a like-for-like saving if it is the construction, size and colour you wanted. A ventilated version is a different buying decision from a leather version for wet morning rounds.
CODECHAOS 27: laced and BOA are different comparisons
The current UK CODECHAOS 27 laced model KI5737 belongs to the range described in adidas’ launch information. That range introduces AXISLOCK around the heel, a waterproof TWISTSKIN upper and full-length BOOST cushioning. The laced sole combines TWISTGRIP in the forefoot with Adiwear rubber.
The BOA version has a different closure and outsole arrangement. adidas’ widely repeated 120% increase in TWISTGRIP coverage refers to the BOA version compared with its predecessor. It should not be presented as a specification for this laced shoe or as our own traction result.
During a fitting, focus on whether the heel feels secure and whether the forefoot bends comfortably. Construction names tell you what to compare; they cannot predict your comfort over a full round.
What about CODECHAOS 25?
The older CODECHAOS 25 IH8445 page showed that colour as sold out when checked. This does not establish that every colour or retailer has sold out. If you find remaining stock, confirm that it is 25 rather than 27, and check the closure, size and return conditions before treating a reduction as a useful deal.
Fit and UK buying checks
Use your intended golf socks for the try-on and check both shoes indoors. If you need an explicitly wider fitting, use our wide-feet shortlist; do not assume an adidas regular-fit shoe becomes wide simply by ordering more length.
Check the selected variant’s weather-protection wording and warranty terms, then confirm the final delivery charge and return conditions at checkout. Keep any indoor fitting trial separate from the first outdoor round so you can make a considered choice.
